Villa Laskowa won the title Modernization of the Year 2009 and the award of the General Conservator of Monuments in the 14th edition of the nationwide contest organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure. The award ceremony took place in Warsaw's Royal Castle. Among more than 800 participants the one that received, the recognition of the chapter is Villa Laskowa, which was awarded for the best-restored historic building.The modernization of the Villa situated in the district of Bielsko-Biala, Gipsy Forest, has contributed to the restoration of one of the most important and beautiful buildings of the place. The historicism-style, cottage type villa was built in 1890. Over the years, changed hands several times until finally the company Paint Service Sp. z.o.o. conducted a thorough restructuring of the building. Works of the investor were aimed at maintaining the old character of the building and its surroundings.
This objective has been fully implemented, because all the old architectural details were completely restored and the villa has regained its past glory. In the area it is impossible to find another, equally successful adaptation to the modern purposes, while preserving historical values of a building.
