informations about producer

Azienda Agricola Lombardo, a family owned company from Gracciano located near to the town of Montepulciano that is famous in the whole world for its Vino Nobile, that is the Noble Wine of Montepulciano.

Antonio Lombardo established his winery in 1972 and today this wine estate is run by his sons, Francesco and Giacinto.

Lombardo vineyards set in the picturesque surroundings of Gracciano, Confino and Caggiole situated in the hills around Montepulciano consist of more than 30 hectares. The vineyards produce the Prugnolo Gentile grapes, a Sangiovese variety, from which this excellent wine is made.

The bouquet and taste of the wine varies depending on the zone of cultivation. The owners therefore allocated funds in technological facilities and wine ageing barrels to provide proper conditions for production and ageing of wine.

A range of Lombardo’s wines is an example of traditional attitudes towards indigenous wine grape varieties grown in Tuscany. Vino Nobile is made from the Prugnolo Gentile grape and in Chianti Colli Senesi wine are blended the grapes of Canaiolo Nero, Mammolo, Malvasia and Trebiano.
